Sprinkler fire extinguishing systems, which have 4 different types, are prepared by taking into consideration details such as flammable material, shelf arrangement, freezing risk, risk group and flow rate adjusted accordingly, pipe installation route, whether it is in an earthquake zone or not. In this direction, the nozzle model is selected and the explosion temperature of the nozzle is determined. Valve groups are also arranged according to the model of sprinkler extinguishing systems.

Sprinkler Fire Extinguishing Systems

Wet Pipe Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems,
Dry Pipe Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems,
Deluge Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems,
Preaction Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems.

Wet Pipe Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

In wet pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems where automatic sprinklers are connected to a certain water source and installed on pipe systems containing water; sprinklers are opened by the effect of the heat released by the fire and water flows intensively onto the burning material. In this system, which is automatically activated by the effect of the heat generated by the fire; water is discharged onto the flammable material in the form of sprinkling.

Dry Pipe Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

In this system, a compressed air is applied to keep the valve located between the pipe network water source and the pipe network closed. Or instead, this area is filled with nitrogen gas. Air pressure is automatically controlled by a valve placed at the inlet of the network. The heat released as a result of the fire activates any sprinkler and the pressure in the pipe network drops rapidly. With the decrease in pressure, the valve located at the inlet of the dry pipe network opens automatically and the pipes fill with water, moving towards the fire area. In cases where wet pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems cannot be used, dry pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems are used in regions with lower temperatures.

Deluge Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

In Deluge sprinkler extinguishing systems, which have a similar structure to wet and dry pipe sprinkler extinguishing systems; the control valve is normally closed. The valve is automatically activated and opened by means of a separate fire detection system. It is preferred in controlling rapidly spreading fires and in cases where a large amount of water is needed in a short time. At the same time, in this system where standard sprinklers are used; all sprinklers are open.

Preaction Sprinkler Extinguishing Systems

In Preaction sprinkler extinguishing systems, which are similar to Deluge sprinkler extinguishing systems but the sprinkler is not in the open position; the sprinkler is protected by elements or glass bulbs that have the ability to melt. It acts as a pre-action valve for the control valve. The pre-action valve opens with the heat generated as a result of the fire and the pipe network fills with water. In this way, it moves towards the flammable area.
Sprinkler extinguishing systems, which have 4 different models, also have various equipment. These are as follows:

– Wet alarm valves and accessories,
– Dry type alarm valves and accessories,
– Deluge alarm valves and accessories,
– Preaction alarm valves and accessories,
– OS&Y type valves,
– Butterfly type valves,
– Flow monitor switches,
– Valve open and closed monitor switches,
– Fire department connection heads,
– Test and drain valves,
– Devices for measuring flow rate,
– Flow meter devices,
– Pressure switches,
– Ball valves,
– Gate valves,
– Check valves.

With the latest regulation, the use of sprinkler extinguishing systems has become mandatory in some buildings and various structures. Accordingly, sprinkler extinguishing systems are mandatory in the following areas.

– High-rise buildings other than offices and residences,
– Office areas with a height of more than 30.50 meters,
– Apartments with a height of more than 51.59 meters,
– Indoor car parks with a capacity of more than 20 vehicles and more than one basement floor,
– Guesthouses, hotels or guesthouses with more than 200 beds,
– Stores, shopping malls, entertainment venues, meeting places and large-scale businesses with a usage area of over 2000 square meters.
